Meta and her husband Marjan made a great birthday present for me – a ride on motorbike to Bled!

I’ve never did it before, so I was a bit afraid to do it. To my surprise the trip was just awesome! Autumn Bled is unbelievably beautiful, a motorcycle ride made me feel as I was in a movie.

The maximum speed on a highway was 205 km/h, on the normal road the speed reached 190 km/h. I didn’t enjoy trip when the speed was more than 150 km/h, I must say. I was worried about my helmet, I was sure that it could be “gone with the wind”. :D

I’m very happy that I had a possibility to have such a ride, but I think that to do it once in my life is more than enough for me. ;)

Storžič (2132 m) – a mountain, which is located in the western part of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps.

It was the highest and the most real mountain among my EVS hiking. :-) We (Ani, Janis, Andrea, Matjaž and me) chose a perfect day for Storžič, the day of the golden season of the year.

There are some of my memories about our Storžič experience: early waking up, a few wrong ways up, magical sticks, great views since the beginning, Andrea’s jokes, unreal clouds passing next to us, beautiful Edelweiss white Alpine flowers, falling stones, wild birds above us, the time of relaxation on the peak of Storžič, fog, a bit of climbing, a fall, being drunk from just one good shnops in a very expensive mountain hut, pain in knees on the way down, dark forest, 8 hours of hiking, a lot of sweat and dust on us, great Italian lasagna in the late evening and pain in all muscles for the next few days.

P.S. If I could turn back time I would do this hike again! :D

On my second day in Slovenia I was impressed by a nice tradition (whatever:) of Ljubljana people – leaving their shoes hanged in the city center. Then I made a wish if I like my EVS, I would leave a pair of my sneakers too.

Well, it was not that easy, but thanks to Matjaž and his professional jumps my old good used-to-be-white sneakers Converse, bought for 35 Euro in Paris in 2008 and in which I bypassed miles and miles in different countries of the world are hanged in peace in Ljubljana’s downtown… waiting for my visit. :-)

There are a few caves in Slovenia, but according to the words of local population,...

There are a few caves in Slovenia, but according to the words of local population, the most beautiful are the Škocjan Caves. There we went, Ana, Nejc and me.

The Škocjan Caves were entered on UNESCO’s list of natural and cultural world heritage sites in 1986. The caves are also recognized as one of the natural treasures of planet Earth. Inside of the caves tourists were not allowed to take pictures, so I found a photo gallery on the main site of Park Škocjanske jame.

On the way back we passed one of the most ancient, beautiful and cozy villages in Kras region – Štanjel. Nowadays this place is very poplular for weddings.

We went to Graz to meet Ilze there, who came from Latvia with a choir to make some performances in Austria and Italy. Ilze was an EVS volunteer in Škofja Loka last year.

On the way to Graz we passed Maribor the second biggest town in Slovenia. Some people say that Maribor is nicer than Ljubljana, but it’s not true at all :). In Maribor I took a picture of the oldest grapevine in the world, they still make vine from it.

Then was Graz, which is the second biggest town in Austria. Nice and a bit posh, especially I liked its roofs and Austrian sausages, which I finally tasted. :)

Brunel Muba, a guy from Belgium, surprisingly appeared in Škofja Loka a few weeks ago,...

Brunel Muba, a guy from Belgium, surprisingly appeared in Škofja Loka a few weeks ago, telling that now he worked for EuroBasket 2013. Brunel is the person who me and Matjaz met before we knew each other: Matjaz met Brunel in France in 2009, I met – in Portugal, 2010. Well, I’m writing about Brunel because thanks to him we got 2 tickets for the match Slovenia vs. Ukraine (5th place game).

It’s a pity that Ukraine lost, the difference was just 6 points, but the good thing is that our team was a surprise of EuroBasket, nobody expected it to play for the 5th place. Otherwise I’m glad for Slovenians who were hosting this competition and who had a real star in their national team – Goran Dragič.

But there is always something that I don’t like ;), this time it was the sound of voices and screaming which Slovenians (99,9% of the public) produced whenever some player of Ukrainian team touched a ball.

P.S. Since we were sitting in the first raw, some people saw us on TV. :-)

Maybe you won’t believe me, but I’m not only traveling during my EVS, I also work. :)

Zavod O site — my main task has been done and successfully released 13th of September. For the last 5 years the organization had an idea of having a web-site, but there was no time and person to realize it. I started to do this site in the end of April and since that time my days were fulfilled with work and a thought that “I’m wasting my life uselessly” stopped bothered me for a while :). Unfortunately for the site, the time of realization coincided with spring and summer – time of vacation and traveling. Otherwise I spent around 12 hours per day working on the web pages. Zavod O site made on wordpress template, but anyway a lot of things in design and logic had to be changed and corrected. There are still some things to do and a lot of content to add.

If you know how to make the site better, please, feel free to tell me it. It would be nice if those of you who had experience with Zavod O could write a short testimonial for Zavod O international pages in your own language and in English to make the site alive and interesting.

I’d like to say thanks to Matej Zerovnik who gave me some nice ideas in right moment and answered my questions when I needed. Thanks to Matjaž Vouk for giving me a chance to make Zavod O site, all necessary information and place to work at his office. :-)

Again unplanned trip happened. Ani and Erhan missed their bus which they needed to reach Dobrna, a place where they had mid-term training. So they asked Matjaz to help them. The story sounds like “copy-paste” story in my blog… but what can I do if this situation happens to Škofja Loka EVSes a lot of times. :)

After delivering them to their destination we went to see Velenje, Solčava and Logarska dolina (one of the most beautiful Alpine glacial valleys in Europe as they say) with Rinka waterfall. The way back home was through Austria (just a few km), so there are also some views of Austrian landscape on the pictures.
